WILLIAM J. HOEY, 79, of 733 School St., Indiana, died Friday, Nov. 2, 1973 at
Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of John and Mary Vorlage
Hoey, he was born Sept. 9, 1894 at Wilkinsburg. He had been a resident of
Indiana for more than 30 years and was a former mayor, past president of the
Indiana County Fair Association and a retired custodian of the Guests Funds
at Indian Haven. Mr. Hoey was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Indiana;
Acacia Lodge No. 355, F and AM, Blairsville; William S. Daugherty Royal Arch
Chapter, No. 313; United Commercial Travelers, Council No. 598, Kiwanis Club,
and a life member of The Salvation Army Advisory Board, all of Indiana.
Surviving are his widow, Cordelia McClelland Hoey; two daughters: Mrs. James
(Dorothy) Davis, Indiana; Miss Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Hoey, Torrance, Calif.;
two sisters: Mrs. James (Marie) Morgan, Harrisburg; Mrs. Foster (Margaret)
Keller, Halifax; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Friends are
being received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Saturday) at Robinson-Lytle's in
Indiana where services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Elwood
L. Stark will officiate and interment will be made in the Blairsville Cemetery.
