John A. Thompson, a well known farmer of Union Township, died Friday evening at
9:00 at his home near Cannonsburg, of heart failure. He had been suffering with
malarial fever and stomach trouble but his condition did not seem to threaten
serious results. The announcement of his death was therefore a surprise to many
of his friends. The deceased was about fifty years of age and pretty well known
throughout the county through his labors as a stockbuyer and his activity as a
member of the county agricultural board. Undertaker Wilson, of this place,
conducted the funeral Monday forenoon.
